They have used before something called acupuncture for weight loss. They basically stick pins in the ear for this particular purpose, and apparently by hitting certain pressure points, it’s supposed to stimulate the appetite suppressant effect. They generally leave safety pins in the ear for a certain period of time while doing this, and over time, it’s supposed to help you to achieve the goals you want, of course when combined with diet counseling and general recommendations from professionals on how you should go about it.
As far as results, they are difficult to find. Many reports say that it does not actually suppress appetite at all. But they also complain about problems. For example, apparently many acupuncture points in this regard actually become infected and they have to remove the safety pin while also taking care afterward to disinfect and help the wound to heal.
If of course uses smaller needles, minimizing pain in general terms. However, it has not shown successful results while it has shown greater infections and irritations associated with this particular type of treatment. So while it could have potential as anything really could, it isn’t showing it right now.
