Avocados For Weight Loss

September 8th, 2009

I don’t really like avocados personally.  Of course, I just don’t really like the taste of much fat, good or bad.  But this being said, many people do like the taste of avocados, because it has that fatty taste, and in this case, that’s not a bad thing.  Avocados are vegetables, and they do have good fats such as omega 3, 6, and 9.  There have been many in the past who have and continue to say that avocados should be avoided, because they apparently don’t understand the concept of good and bad fats, which really doesn’t work out to your generalized benefit.

But frankly, cholesterol levels are a major issue, and because people focus so much on bad fats and eat too many of them, sometimes they forget about good fats found in avocados.  You actually need these fats to lose weight, to keep your good cholesterol levels up for greater heart health, and in general you need them for your skin.  With the extra vitamin E content also found in avocados, you can of course give your body that particular essential vitamin that it needs, and avocados are definitely one of those foods you should choose.  They can well sustain your body in certain ways, without question qualifying as a superfood.
