In order to burn fat and not just break apart some of the bonds for temporary results, you have to exercise. Diet only breaks apart the bonds, exercise actually burns the fat off, which is longer lasting and harder to undo in general terms. This being said, you basically want to burn off more calories, and you want to build more lean muscle mass to reduce the amount of body fat in your body among other things.
So what’s the answer? Well first assess your current fitness level. I mean you can’t really expect to just start running 10 miles right off the bat. That’s not really particularly reasonable. However, maybe you want to start at even ½ a mile. It may seem small now. But sometimes, it takes baby steps to see the ultimate results. So don’t dog on yourself just because it seems that you are starting out lower than somebody else. Second, make sure that you are exercising for at least an hour.
If this means running for about ½ a mile and then slowing it down to a walk for the rest of the time or for that matter switching between machines to get your hour of cardio, then you should do it. You can gradually expand your times of greater exertion, and really all of this is the best way to burn off the fat.
