Weekly Exercise

September 1st, 2009

They are now saying that weight loss may actually take 250 minutes of exercise per week.  When I first saw the report, I was thinking per day?  That’s a bit scary.  I definitely know I don’t exercise that much per day.  I probably exercise some 60 minutes per day, or an hour.  Definitely a fraction of that.  But of course more exercise is better.  But that equals out to 50 minutes of exercise per day 5 times per week, which doesn’t sound nearly as daunting, and apparently I’m doing better than the average.

So that definitely helps to boost my confidence on that particular thing.  But while many before used to recommend that you only exercise for 30 minutes to get the maximum benefits, they are now saying even more than 60 minutes in some cases.  Especially for those who are obese and trying to lose weight, that is what it can take.  For maintenance, you should still exercise and basically adjust your caloric intake to fit it, this because exercise actually has so many different benefits in general.  But in these 60 minutes, you need to be doing cardio, getting your heart rate up, and otherwise helping yourself out in general.
